Akasha Birth provides holistic Doula support which is curated around the needs and vision of the birthing person and family. I focus on advocating, providing education and empowerment through the pregnancy and birth continuum. Education on all your options and support on how to communicate with the healthcare provider are key elements of my role as your Doula.
The power is within you and I am here to awaken that. I will be active in your care and be bold in how I advocate for you. I am here to create a space where you feel safe and willing to take each step into your new role. As your needs will fluctuate, I will show up with keen awareness for when it is my time to support you. I will honor your questions as they are critical and I will be here to remind you that the wisdom that you hold is always available to you. My responsibility is to you, your health and baby. I will always have the energy of high expectations for your care. I am here to help keep you grounded and comfortable in your body.
After birth, I can assist through the healing process of postpartum. This is a unique time so further support, parental guidance and integration are needed. I offer lactation and chestfeeding education along with infant care which can empower you through the parenting process.
Meet Jessica Hernandez
Welcome! I am so happy you are here. I am a Los Angeles based full spectrum Doula as well as a Lactation Education Counselor, belly binding practitioner, Reiki practitioner, breathwork facilitator and I have a BA in Psychology. I combine many healing modalities to ground and center my clients through the fertility, prenatal, birth and postpartum phases. I integrate sound healing, ancestral practices and ceremony to support as well as nutritional guidance and emotional support. These tools treat stress, anxiety, boost the immune system and balance the body. Together we can curate your journey to have a more positive birth experience and celebrate each milestone on that continuum.
I am a foodie and a lifelong student. My family ties run deep to birth work and am honored to be in this space. As a birthworker, I am advocate for birth equality and am a rememberer who recognizes that birth is a sacred event as well as the postpartum period.

The support I provide will vary for each family. This depends on cultural and religious practices within the family. I practice indigenous birth and postpartum customs and ceremonies. This may include tea ceremony, bath ceremony, bone closing and belly binding practices. My practice can also include energy work, Reiki, meditation, trauma work, bodywork, herbal support and nutrition guidance.
Add-ons include breathwork, additional herbs, essential oils and bath blends.
